The Stand Up Paddle division of the 2010 Head of the Dart race is split into 3 catergories in order to create a fair and enjoyable paddle/race.
1) Cruising Class
2) 12’6″ Class
3) Unlimited Class
1) Cruising Class
This is the class for those paddlers purely interested in completing the distance from Dartmouth to Totnes. You will be set off 10 minutes before the other classes and will have time to take in some spectacular views as you cruise up the river. There is no restriction on equipment but you will not be timed or entered into the race results if you enter this class.
2) 12’6″ Class
For all boards up to 12’6″ Long. Your board must be mono hulled and powered by a single bladed paddle. You must stay standing for the duration of the race. Your positions will be recorded and the results will count. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
3) Unlimited Class
For all boards over 12’6″ long. Your board must be mono hulled and powered by a single bladed paddle. You must stay standing for the duration of the race. Your positions will be recorded and the results will count. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
